Massage Therapy
Deep Tissue Massage
A deeper massage with stronger pressure that targets specific areas of the body. Designed to soften the muscle and warm the tissue to increase flexibility and relieve soreness. During longer sessions, expect that Swedish relaxation techniques will be blended with Deep Tissue work to specific problem areas.
Ashiatsu Massage
Ashiatsu is a deep tissue technique that involves the practitioner using their feet to apply pressure during massage. This style features long, gliding and slow full body strokes. Ashiatsu has a way of putting you into meditative trance with its combination of depth and repetitive strokes. Ashiatsu is an effective way to release chronic density, deep knots, and widespread nervous tension held in the body. This style effects a larger volume of blood due to the increase in pressure, and therefore lowers your heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate significantly. For folks who manage chronic anxiety, Ashiatsu can feel like a weighted blanket, offering comfort and relief with the pace and pressure. It can be nerve racking to try a new style of deep tissue massage, but know that your comfort and limits are always respected, especially with this style!
Please email homebodylmt@gmail.com if you have questions about this style or your health history before booking.
Relaxation Massage
A perfect massage aimed to smooth away tension, improve circulation, soothe aching muscles, and relieve physical and emotional stress. Communicate beforehand with your therapist about what kind of pressure you find most relaxing, or simply trust their professional judgement, as you let go of the worries of the world.
Craniosacral Therapy
This gentle bodywork technique focuses on sensing the subtle tidal patterns of the cerebrospinal fluid and restores flow and movement to the fluid systems of the central nervous system. Like any area of the body, trauma or injury to the tissues can lead to blockage or stagnation patterns. This can be very helpful for anyone with a history of concussions, head trauma, auto accidents, or birth trauma, to give some common examples. Craniosacral is considered by some to be an Energy Medicine technique, but unlike some more energetic forms of therapy, it is very grounded in the rhythms and tissues of the human body.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial means the system that contains, organizes and connects our muscles with each other across joints. This includes tendons, ligaments and bones. Because this approach is concerned with the relationship between all of the parts of our bodies, it is a technique that is exceptionally effective at unwinding patterns of movement that keep us stuck in unhelpful ruts.
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a lot like melting little glaciers within in our bodies. As these hardened fascial patterns release with warm and steady listening hands, the physiological and psychological guarding around an injured area softens into release. This is a mind/body shift in structure and this approach can pave a new way of being in the world that is more connected and integrated.
Expect slow, attuned work with MFR. It is gentle and deep at the same time. This is not an intense pressure style of massage like deep tissue.

Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered through the hands and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us and that is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Spiritiual Wisdom: and Ki which means "life force energy." So Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy."
A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.
