Myofascial means the system that contains, organizes and connects our muscles with each other across joints. This includes tendons, ligaments and bones. Because this approach is concerned with the relationship between all of the parts of our bodies, it is a technique that is exceptionally effective at unwinding patterns of movement that keep us stuck in unhelpful ruts.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a lot like melting little glaciers within in our bodies. As these hardened fascial patterns release with warm and steady listening hands, the physiological and psychological guarding around an injured area softens into release. This is a mind/body shift in structure and this approach can pave a new way of being in the world that is more connected and integrated.

Expect slow, attuned work with MFR. It is gentle and deep at the same time. This is not an intense pressure style of massage like deep tissue.

It is administered through the hands and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us and that is what causes us to be alive. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Spiritiual Wisdom: and Ki which means "life force energy." So Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy."

A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.

Meg has a foundation of training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release (MFR), Cupping, Gua Sha and Ashiatsu techniques. They have sought out advanced training in Myofascial Release and Ashiatsu.

For clients seeking Deep Tissue style work please book Ashiatsu. For clients seeking softer and more gentle work please book Myofascial Release.

Ashiatsu is a deep tissue technique that involves the practitioner using their feet, and therefore full body weight, during the massage. It is deep work, and the widespread and broad application of pressure is a very effective technique for people holding chronic stress and density in their body. This style of massage is relaxing and lowers your heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate. The depth of pressure that Ashiatsu offers can be very relieving for clients looking to soothe anxiety.

Myofascial Release works with the fascia as the primary entry point for treatment in the body. This approach oftentimes sparks an environment of curiosity and inquiry within the client. The MFR approach repatterns the structures in a fundamental way because its working with the harder viscous structure that encases the soft muscle tissue. MRF looks for origin points of pain, and these origin points are oftentimes old injuries, chronic holding patterns, and traumatic experiences. This style sets the stage for a new structure in both the mind and body. MFR is oil free and relies on intuitively locating the tension pathways with warm hands and a keen softening to the body’s pace. Meg’s goal for their sessions is to help clients achieve deep therapeutic relief alongside trance-like relaxation.

Expect an authentic and genuine approach from Meg during treatments. They welcome spirited conversation in the treatment room, and also love to hold space for meditative silence. Their sessions are client led, holding the belief that listening to the client’s intuitive body is the wisest guide.

Meg is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and loves working with clients within that spectrum of identities.

They also unfortunately do not offer pre-natal massage.

I began my journey towards the healing arts at an early age guided by my Naturalist grandmother and family deep in the 'hollers' of the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina often in search of elusive salamanders, and crouching down to capture the ephemeral woodland medicinals plants. My early years developing mindful presence & patience continued to inform my life’s work as I delved into ecology, plant medicine, and a myriad of natural sciences at The Evergreen State College ( degree in 2001) as well as body systems thru Massage Therapy and the evidence-based and deeply rooted traditional wisdom of Chinese Medicine’s complex healing (healthcare) system. I graduated from The Alexander School of Natural Therapeutics and received my Massage Therapy Licensure in 2014, MA 60453759. My areas of study/practice encompass; Trigger Point Therapy, Sports, Myofascial Release, Pregnancy, Lomilomi, Tuina, Cupping, and Gua Sha treatments. My bodywork style is patient-centered, collaborative and intuitive. I hold a Master's level Degree in Acupuncture from Middleway Acupuncture Institute and became Licensed in 2021 as an Acupuncturist in Washington State, AC 61209299. I am also certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture (NCCAOM). My offerings include Chinese Medicine; (moxa, Tui na, dietary therapies, cupping qi-gong exercises, and needling(stand-alone), bodywork(stand-alone), and a unique blend of acu-massage drawing from my bodywork foundation of palpation, deep listening and Trauma Informed Care practices.
